Palouse Choral Society’s 25th anniversary season
Palouse Choral Society’s 25th anniversary season
Saturday, November 2, 2024 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (PDT)
Description
Please join the Palouse Choral Society as we open our 25th anniversary season! Our first concert, “Listen to the Silence,” centers around the absence of sound — the moments between the notes and the idea that seeking out calm spaces is how we heal and recharge from the chaos swirling around us. The repertoire will include the world premiere of the winner of our third annual composition contest: “Bugtong-Bugtong,” by Ian Gabriel Corpuz, a Filipino composer, conductor, and music educator. We are excited to share his vibrant piece for you, the first audience ever to hear it. We will also perform such varied pieces as the African lullaby “Thula Baba,” an arrangement of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence,” and Baroque and Classical works by Henry Purcell and William Billings Performing ensembles will include the PCS Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Children’s Choir. When Friday, November 1, at 7:30 pm Saturday, November 2, at 3 pm Where Simpson United Methodist Church, 325 NE Maple St., Pullman WA 99163 Tickets General Admission is $20 Student tickets are $8 and children 8-12 are free The concert is not programmed for children under the age of 8.
