The Big Country News 38th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

The Big Country News 38th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 7, 2024 (4:30 PM - 6:30 PM) (PST)

Description

The theme for this year’s parade is “Toys, Trains & Candy Canes.” The popular LC Valley tradition will again be produced and presented by Nelly Broadcasting, LLC and Big Country News Connection, LLC. Parade announcers will again be stationed along 6th Street near Schurmans True Value Hardware and the Clarkston Post Office. Parade participants and spectators can expect the same format and presentation as in prior years. “We are honored to continue this decades-long tradition,” said Nelly Broadcasting Owner Jim Nelly. “It is a huge undertaking each year that we could not do without the support of the sponsors and volunteers.” The Asotin Lions Club Christmas Star will be lit for the season during this year’s parade. The switch will be thrown to light the Christmas Star as the Asotin Lions Club entry in the parade arrives at the announcer’s station near Schurmans True Value Hardware. Weather permitting, the Christmas Star will add yet another amazing lighted display to the event. Registration for parade entries is now open. Organizations and individuals who wish to enter this year’s parade must register online at https://www.bigcountrynewsconnection.com/parade/. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. in downtown Clarkston. Diagonal Street will be closed from 2nd Street to 5th Street from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 6th Street will be closed from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Parking is not allowed on 6th Street the day of the parade. Entries will again line-up on Diagonal Street, northeast of 6th Street. The parade will proceed south on 6th Street (Highway 129) and end just past Chestnut Street
